Growing through play with Uk & Puk

At HappyKids, we believe that young children learn best by playing, discovering, and experiencing. That is why we work with the preschool education program Uk & Puk: a playful, varied, and challenging program for children from 0 to 4 years old.

With Uk & Puk, we stimulate children’s development in a natural way. Through familiar themes, activities, songs, games, and reading moments, children practice important skills that help them continue to grow with confidence. Think of language development, social-emotional development, motor skills, sensory development, and the first math impulses.

For toddlers, Uk & Puk is a valuable preparation for primary school. Children learn new words through play, practice playing together, gain more self-confidence, and discover how fun learning can be. Everything takes place in a safe, familiar environment with peers and committed educational professionals.

For children who can use extra support with language development, the preschool education program offers a place in childcare several days a week, and in addition the child receives guidance from a tutor.

Extra attention where needed

Every child develops at his or her own pace. That is why at HappyKids we look carefully at what a child needs. When extra support is helpful, a tutor can be deployed. The tutor offers children additional attention and guidance, so that they can continue to develop step by step. This is mainly in the area of language development, but we also pay attention to broad development. In this way, the child can make a good start in primary education on their fourth birthday.

This extra support connects with what the child can already do and where they still have room to grow. In this way, we ensure that children feel seen, gain positive experiences of success, and continue to participate in the group with enjoyment.

And if concerns arise that require different support, we are supported by a large care network within the municipality of Haarlemmermeer.

With Uk & Puk and the use of extra support where needed, we give children a solid foundation for the future. Not school-like or forced, but in a way that suits young children: warm, playful, and full of confidence.

Our VE specialists

In addition to their qualifications as pedagogical staff, our professionals are trained to work with the Uk and Puk method. They have also demonstrated that they master a required language level. The VE coach supports them in their pedagogical practice in the group. And our trainer provides further and continuing education so that our professionals continue to develop and work according to new pedagogical insights.
